Fashion Magazine Design – Kpop Artist

August 2024 | Indesign

This is a magazine about K-pop and idol culture, featuring Baekhyun through a mix of artist profile pages, long-form editorial text, and a structured timeline. I chose a system-driven approach to unify these different content types: a central rectangular container anchors every spread, while watermark text and micro-markers create a persistent secondary layer—like ambient media noise—behind the main narrative. At the same time, a strict typographic hierarchy (headlines/pull quotes/body/notes) controls information weight and pacing, keeping the pages crisp and fashion-editorial while still carrying the rich density and layered context of K-pop visuals.

The luxury B/W feel comes from a minimal framework and generous whitespace: the central rectangle acts as a fixed container, using restraint, a stable grid, and clean negative space to keep the spreads cool, structured, and fashion-editorial.

The bridge between the two is typographic hierarchy: headlines, pull quotes, body copy, and notes are strictly weighted—primary content stays crisp and elevated, while secondary content sits lightly in the background—so each page feels both refined and densely detailed.

The K-pop complexity lives in the secondary reading layer: watermark text, micro-markers, and fragmented information flow across the background like ambient media noise, building depth and context.
